Fun, Fall Weekend In Philly
Just a little weekend recap for ya. I had a wonderful time back home in Philly this past weekend. It was full of celebrations, workouts, family, friends and all the fun.
After leaving Connecticut later than expected, we arrived in the Philly suburbs late Friday night. Both Nick's and my parents live there which makes traveling back home eventful as we see both of our families. After some food and a movie, Friday commenced with little action. Early to rise, Saturday was full of adventure. Nick and I managed to hit the gym with a solid cardio, booty and abs workout to start the day. Stopping by Wawa on the way home, a MUST whenever we get the chance, for some gas and snacks.
Saturday afternoon's activity was a bridal shower of a friend getting married in Novemebr. Hosted at a cute little Italian restaurant, the place was decorated to the "t." It was stocked with a mimosa bar and fresh fruit juices; I was in heaven. The bride-to-be looked stunning in her dress! We all enjoyed eating and chatting as most girls do.
Directly after leaving the bridal shower, my crew of friends headed into the city for a Phillies game. We tailgated in true style with burgers, beer, skinny pop and kombucha. BALANCE, you know. We ended up freezing our butts off at the game as the temperature dropped. It definitely felt like fall in that crisp air. I couldn't take the cold, per usual, so we left the game early to head back to the 'burbs for some bar hopping and meeting with friends.
After a great night with friends and family, we headed to church at Christ's Church of the Valley. I can't say enough good things about it. The sermons are always so intellectually stimulating and hit you right where you are. But the worship. MAN, it is out of this world. It feels like a concert where you can sing at the top of your lungs alongside many other people. Check it out if you are ever in the Collegeville, PA area.
Lastly, we watched the Eagles game at my parents house. My dad is basically famous for his original cheesesteak recipe. He made them for me and my friends to cheer on the birds. Great win over the Giants, great win in my belly too. What a packed weekend it was. I was able to enjoy moments with friends and family. I am forever thankful for those in my life.
