Tone It Up (TIU) Tour Tips and Tricks. Everything you need to know.

I had the amazing opportunity to attend the Tone It Up Tour in Philly this past weekend. It was an incredible event that I want to relive over and over again. Imagine an arena packed with girls on a mission to be healthier and happier, rose and aqua colors galore, a killer DJ and vendors with free swag. It really doesn't get any better than this! After attending, I realized there are a couple of things I would have done differently if I could have. Here are some quick tips that you might find helpful. 


If you are dying to see K&K and Jillian Michaels up close and personal, you need to arrive at the venue much earlier than the start time. Girls in Philly started lining up 2 hours before the doors opened, and needless to say, they got to enjoy the tour front and center. When the doors open, security will check your ticket and wand your mat. Once you are through, you can run to claim your spot. Don't forget to bring a snack, some sunscreen, and a disposable water bottle while you wait. 


K&K and Jillian Michaels both have apparel for you to purchase. TIU items vary from Tour apparel, to kettlebells, booty bands, tanks, sea salt spray, and more! The lines get crazy long to checkout so if you want to purchase some swag, be sure to get in line ASAP. Sizes sell out quickly–embrace the crowds and buy in the beginning of the tour to ensure you get your correct fit. Another plus to the Swag booth is that you don't have to pay for shipping and you can feel all of the fabric in person. I found this very helpful for buying items on their site after the Tour. 


Eat before you get to the tour. This is a great way to connect and catch up with TIU girls before you get inside. TIU preaches on eating every 2-3 hours and this event is 5 hours long. Fueling your body is so important, especially when you are getting a sweat session in. Bring a TIU bar or pack of almonds in your wristlet so you don't starve (security won't search your mini purse, but they won't let you bring in any bags). Krave Jerkey has a booth of bite-sized samples for you to try, so visit them for a little fuel midway through. Food is available to purchase at food trucks and tables after the workouts, but you may be hungry beforehand, so bring a little snack if you think you'll need it. 


There are a couple essential items you need to fit in your wristlet. You'll be sweating through the workouts, partying with some rose and taking ALL THE PICTURES. To look and feel refreshed, pack a travel can of dry shampoo. This came in handy for me! Don't worry about bringing any body spray; a sample of beautiful smelling perfume is in your Tour swag bag along with sample of sunscreen in case you forgot yours. Oil sheets are life saving to remove sweat and oil from your face and to prevent blemishes before you can wash your face at home. A mini deodorant–this goes without saying. Extra hair ties are a blessing to you and your friends who forget theirs. Lastly, bring a credit card to pay for food and swag.


TIU sends out a map of your venue the day before your event. Be sure to familiarize yourself with where everything is located ahead of time so you can make the most of your time. I found this so helpful when the masses started filling up. This way you can be first in line for the activities you most want to see and do. 


The workouts are just as amazing as you might assume. CorePowerYoga brings a beautiful flow for you first thing. Take advantage of this as it will warm up your body and get your muscles ready to rock. Jillian Michaels serves a killer workout with HIIT and circuits. Your blood will be pumping and you'll likely be out of breathe. She encourages you to go at your own pace, and I agree. If you want to be ready to SLAY with K&K, be careful just how hard you push yourself with JM. The final performance is with Karena and Katrina. They take you through about a 20-25 minutes circuit and then cool you down with some yoga by Kat. All the while, DJ Mads is playing JAMS in the background while you sweat. No doubt your booty and abs will be BURNING by the end of your workouts. 


Lastly, and most importantly, have a total blast and soak up every second of this event. The time flies by far too quickly, so being present in every moment will help you make the most of your experience. Run up to girls you know from Instagram and give them hugs. Take pictures of everything and with all of your friends. Don't be shy, life is too short to hold back. Be ready to smile and laugh until it hurts out so mentally prepare for your heart to burst.
